Their debut album, "Tabanka", released in 1990, remains a landmark in the musical history of Guinea-Bissau.

The album "Sperança", released in 1996, stood out for its historical relevance, selling 40,000 copies and earning a nomination for the Nguomo Africa, the African equivalent of the Grammys. This acclaim is a testament to the band's influence and reach in African music.

In 1999, Brazilian icon Martinho da Vila invited Tabanka Djaz to join the "Lusofonia" project, a collaboration that solidified their reputation as cultural ambassadors of Gumbé, a traditional genre from their homeland, Bissau. The album "Sentimento", released in 2002, marked a new chapter with its innovative sounds and notable collaborations, including contributions from Martinho da Vila and renowned Guinean guitarist Tony Dudu.

"Depois do Silêncio", released in 2014, celebrated the band's 25-year career, vividly reflecting their African roots with contemporary influences and sentimental themes, as evidenced by the single "Foi Assim". This album underscores Tabanka Djaz's enduring spirit and unwavering connection to their musical heritage, offering a poignant testament to their resilience and artistry.

In 2024, Tabanka Djaz reached a pinnacle in their musical journey with the release of a live album recorded at the Coliseu dos Recreios, titled "Live - 30 anos", celebrating three decades of a trajectory marked by achievements and musical innovations.
