AFROTRONIX

(TD/CA)

AfrotroniX, a project led by Chadian guitarist Caleb Rimtobaye, is revolutionizing Afrobeats with a sophisticated blend of blues and electro-Sahelian sounds. Their music fuses Chad's saï, Senegal's mbalax, Haiti's kompas, West African Mandingo roots, and electric Tuareg blues with deep house, dubstep and techno rhythms.

Founded in 2014 and based in Montreal, AfrotroniX embodies an Afro-futurist vision of electronic music. Their performances are marked by the DOM helmet, which symbolizes modernized ancestral wisdom, and feature a mix of DJing, live vocals and electrifying guitar riffs.

AfrotroniX aims to drive social change through music. Their rise began with a headlining performance at the Afropunk festival in Paris in 2016, followed by extensive tours and critical acclaim for their album and music videos. Rimtobaye's mission is to project a pan-African message, reshaping perceptions of Africa and reconnecting with its roots through large-scale performances in Chad.

Innovatively, AfrotroniX uses technology to elevate African linguistic heritage. The project has been awarded several times, including Best Artist at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (2022) and Best African Electro (2019) at the All Africa Music Awards.

AfrotroniX appeals to those redefining African identity, promoting a future of peace, inclusion and unity. Initially discovered at AFROPUNK Paris, AfrotroniX showcases Caleb Rimtobaye's visionary art, blending African rhythms with modern electronic music.
