Filipe Sambado is one of the most striking, challenging and original figures in contemporary Portuguese music. In constant reinvention, Sambado brought to the road the show ‘Gêmea Analógica’, a series of acoustic shows born from his latest studio album,'Três Anos de Escorpião em Touro’ (2023). These nude versions also received a physical release, with a cassette tape edition by the independent label Revolve.
In this rawer and more direct format, Sambado reveals not only the intimate and vulnerable side of the songs, but also their purest essence. ‘Gêmea Analógica’ is not so much a contrast to the energy of the original production, but a return to the emotional and poetic raw material of the songs — where opposites coexist, fragility and strength, silence and intensity. Live, this version of his universe is even closer, more touching — and proves, once again, that Filipe Sambado is an absolutely necessary voice in the present and future of music made in Portugal.
