NOMAD

(PT)

Ricardo Antão (euphonium) and Jonathan Silva (percussion) have created one of the most original Portuguese projects with NOMAD, with an unusual instrumental combination that favours imagination and creativity. This adventure was born with the aim of delving into little explored into sonic territories, tracing new paths in the creation and sharing of repertoire for this rare formation. Although often overlooked by composers, these two instruments reveal a vast and surprising expressive universe, whose richness intensifies when intertwined in the intimacy of chamber music.

It is in this encounter - between the warm breath of the euphonium and the vibrant pulse of the percussion - that the duo finds fertile ground for experimentation, where acoustic purity and the daring of electronics coexist in constant dialogue with innovation and artistic sensitivity.

A regular presence on stages and at festivals, NOMAD have taken their sonic vision to recitals and major festivals, showing on stage just how exciting the music they create together can be. NOMAD is also dedicated to expanding its musical universe by commissioning and premiering original works, revealing for the first time to the public creations by Matthew Murchison, Francisco Ribeiro, Nathan Daughtrey, among others, as well as various arrangements conceived especially for this unusual and powerful instrumental union.
