Since 2018, this drum and percussion trio, made up of Ivo Costa (Cais Sodré Funk Connection), Riot (Buraka Som Sistema) and Quim Albergaria (Paus), has regularly appeared on stage to explore a space between electronics and music. percussion, which turns each performance into a party. Over this time, they also developed a very unique way of making songs, now gathered on their debut album It arrived, published in 2021 and in which they had the voices of people as diverse as Héber Marques, Papillon, Irma, Pité, Scúru Fitchádu or Blaya. Somewhere between pop, afro sound and dance music, Bateu Matou is above all a modern dance band, in which three drummers create a sound that explores a space between dj set and percussion, with lots of beats per minute to accompany the voices of guests, in a whole that, in this case, is undoubtedly much greater than the sum of all the parts.
