Composer, singer and bassist with projects in Jazz, world music and Portuguese popular music, he was part of the groups Os Cantautores ou Emboscadas and worked, as a guest musician, with the Danças Ocultas project and the Azorean singer-songwriter Zeca Medeiros. Jazz professor at the Music Conservatory of Coimbra, he also has some of his own works, such as Estas Palavras (2012), vozCONTRAbaixo (2017) and the new Contra: Contemporânea Tradição, edited in April this year and in which he recovers musical heritage from the Portuguese folklore, especially from Beira Baixa, where he was born (in Sertã), only using voice and double bass. The album's lineup includes several traditional themes, such as Cantiga da Ceifa, São João, Cantiga das Casadas, Virgem da Consolação or Bento Airoso, all with new arrangements of his authorship.
