Henrique Silva and Luís Firmino lead a special collective known as Acácia Maior. Their vision is unique, viewing Cape Verde's rich musical tradition as a map to discover the future, exemplified by their latest release, "Fort d’cmê Bolacha," where they assert that "man does not live on bread alone".

Born in São Vicente, Henrique and Luís met in Portugal in 2018 at the launch of Tabanka Records. It was friendship at first sight, bonded over the sounds of the violão (guitar) and cavaquinho. Without a predetermined plan, they began experimenting and creating together, embracing their lived experiences and emotions. From the encounters sparked by Acácia Maior, emerged "Cimbron Celeste", a luminous and inventive album crafted with collaborators like João Gomes from Fogo Fogo and Cachupa Psicadélica, as well as living legend Paulino Vieira.

"Cimbron Celeste" "Cimbron Celeste" takes listeners on a journey through the diverse islands of Cape Verde and the different epochs that shaped its rich poetic, rhythmic and musical diversity. It also engages with the present, renewing and regenerating music through encounters that propel the future forward. Over three years, they nurtured the soil, planted passions and watered countless ideas. The result is a rich and delicate sound ecosystem, marked by experimentation, ethics and deep emotion. A collective that resists individualistic industry norms, Acácia Maior invests on wonder and astonishment. In 2024, they also collaborated with Nancy Vieira on the beautiful track "Nôve Kretxêu," further showcasing the breadth of their original vision.
