Albaluna invite AHMED HAMDI MOUSSA

(PT/EG)

Since its establishment in 2010, Albaluna, a six-member band from Portugal, has been a beacon of musical, historical and cultural exploration. Founded by multi-instrumentalist and composer Ruben Monteiro, Albaluna creates original compositions inspired by the rich heritage of the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula. Their dynamic performances blend ancient and modern instruments, crossing genres such as world music, prog rock, metal, folk and fusion.

Albaluna's journey began with their debut album, "D'Antes", in 2010, which drew inspiration from traditional and medieval Iberian music. Since then, they have released other works, such as the album "Alvorada da Lua" in 2014, and "Nau dos Corvos" in 2016, influenced by Turkish and Balkan music.

In 2018, Albaluna toured India, performing in cities such as New Delhi and Kolkata. In January 2019, they released the single "Gargull", followed by the album "Amor, Ira & Desgosto", which combines poetry and music with influences ranging from Turkish melodies to progressive rock. In 2020, Albaluna released "Rotas Romani", a work inspired by the Roma diaspora, and the EP "Ensemble Intercultural", a collaboration with the immigrant community of Torres Vedras. "Heptad", in 2021, and the brand new "Ennead," released in 2024, complete their discography.

For their performance at Festival MED, Albaluna invited the Egyptian artist Ahmed Hamdi Moussa.
