Poesias do mundo (Poems of the world)

The MED Festival goes beyond a mere musical experience. Among its many features, the ‘Poesias do Mundo’ event stands out (a project created and organised by Tápê, from Loulé) A presence at this festival since 2016, and having hosted over a hundred authors and reciters – both amateur and professional – representing more than two dozen different nationalities, it is a space where the spoken word, books, poetry and a love of culture intertwine harmoniously, offering visitors yet another distinctive ingredient.

In the year in which the MED Festival celebrates its twentieth anniversary and Portugal celebrates fifty years of the “Carnation Revolution”, there could be no more appropriate theme than “FREEDOM”. All participants will recite (some) poetry alluding to this theme, further enriching the cultural experience provided by the festival.
