Living exhibition

‘Claustrophonia’ is a project created and developed by Ruben Monteiro, presenting an exhibition of musical instruments from the ancestral traditions of the entire region stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Iberian Peninsula. This exhibition features string, wind and percussion instruments representative of the main musical cultures of the Mediterranean and Atlantic, including some of the oldest instruments in the world.

This exhibition is presented as a ‘living’ exhibition with performances that showcase not only the history and context of each instrument, but also their sounds and timbres played live.
