Fun, creativity and plenty of adventures for the little ones!

At the MED Festival, the youngest visitors take centre stage too.
MED KIDS is a space specially dedicated to children, where fun, learning and imagination go hand in hand..

From 25th to 27th, between 8.00 pm and 1.00 am,participants can enjoy a programme packed with fun and educational activities in a safe, welcoming and supervised environment, allowing parents to enjoy the festival with complete peace of mind.

In partnership with the Loulé Municipal Library, MED – Kids welcomes children aged 6 to 12, up to a limit of 30 participants, maximum period of 2 hours.

Permanent activities

Throughout the three days of the festival, there will be plenty of activities to stimulate creativity, curiosity and team spirit:

• Origami;
• Colouring;
• Face painting;
• Traditional games, such as limbo, sack races and broken phone;
• Board games, including jigsaw puzzles, Stop game, Battleship, Sudoku and dominoes.

Jogo: limpar o mar

Inspired by the traditional ‘Fish Game’, this activity invites children to take part in a special mission to protect the oceans. The challenge involves identifying and collecting all materials and waste that do not belong in the marine environment, helping to restore the sea’s natural balance.

In a fun and interactive way, participants are made aware of the importance of preserving marine ecosystems and the impact that waste has on living creatures. At the same time, the activity promotes the development of fine motor skills through handling and collecting different objects, stimulating motor coordination and manual dexterity.

An educational experience that combines play, learning and environmental awareness.

In this creative workshop, children will have the opportunity to add colour and personality to a variety of plaster figures inspired by nature and living creatures. By painting and decorating the pieces, participants will be able to explore their imagination, develop their creativity and freely express their artistic flair.

In a fun and relaxed way, this activity promotes the development of fine motor skills, motor coordination and concentration, whilst encouraging an appreciation for the visual arts.

At the end, each child will be able to take their creation home with them, turning it into a special memento of their experience at MED – Kids.

Living exhibition

A “Claustrophonia” é um projeto criado e desenvolvido por Ruben Monteiro, que apresenta uma exposição de instrumentos musicais das ancestrais tradições de toda a área abrangida desde o Mar Mediterrâneo à Península Ibérica. Nesta exposição encontram-se instrumentos de cordas, sopras e percussões representativas das principais culturas musicais do Mediterrâneo e Atlântico, contendo alguns dos instrumentos mais antigos do mundo.

This exhibition is presented as a ‘living’ exhibition with performances that showcase not only the history and context of each instrument, but also their sounds and timbres played live.

The mother of all Portuguese short films returned to cinemas this year in a restored version and now comes to Cinema Med.
A story about a summer romance in the city of Coimbra. Never before has Portuguese cinema displayed such romantic vigour. It was an official selection at Cannes.

Film concert with Tó Trips and Helena Espvall

One of the most ambitious silent films in Portuguese silent cinema. Somewhere between drama and documentary, a love triangle set in a fishing community. A magical evening is promised to the sound of the soundtrack created by Tó Trips.
