True to its DNA, the event brings together diverse musical styles, with music from all over the world set to be performed in the city of Loul\u00e9.\u00a0<strong>Groundation<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Arnaldo Antunes<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>M\u00e1rio L\u00facio &amp; The Pan African Band<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dikanda<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Lala Tamar<\/strong>\u00a0are just some of the names appearing at MED, which takes place between 25th and 28th June.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.cm-loule.pt\/upload_files\/client_id_1\/website_id_1\/images\/FOTOS%202026\/Groundation.jpg\" alt=\"Multim\u00e9dia0\" width=\"500\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of new and varied acts on the line-up. From\u00a0<strong>Groundation<\/strong>, a Californian band blending reggae, funk and dub, to icons such as the Brazilian\u00a0<strong>Arnaldo Antunes<\/strong>\u00a0and the Cape Verdean\u00a0<strong>M\u00e1rio L\u00facio \u2013 with The Pan African Band \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0MED has just added further quality to the 2026 line-up.<\/p>\n<p>With a career spanning three decades, the Polish band\u00a0<strong>Dikanda\u00a0<\/strong>are also confirmed, as is the psychedelic rock of\u00a0<strong>Lalalar<\/strong>, who travel between Germany and Turkey. In the same rock vein, but with a strong connection to Arabic music and mixed with jazz, comes the France-based collective\u00a0<strong>Sar\u00e3b<\/strong>Also from France is\u00a0<strong>Cyrille Brotto<\/strong>\u00a0(accordion), accompanied by\u00a0<strong>Ablaye Cissoko<\/strong>\u00a0(Kora, Senegal).<\/p>\n<p>Based in South Korea but drawing on diverse influences from North Africa, dub and Afro-beat, the collective\u00a0<strong>Omar and the Eastern Power<\/strong>\u00a0are set to perform in Loul\u00e9. North African influences form the cornerstone of\u00a0<strong>Lala Tamar<\/strong>'s artistic expression, which combines the guembri instrument with poetry, dance, song and a unique feminine style.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.cm-loule.pt\/upload_files\/client_id_1\/website_id_1\/images\/FOTOS%202026\/M%C3%A1rio%20L%C3%BAcio%20%C2%A9Jo%C3%A3o%20Azevedo%201.jpg\" alt=\"Multim\u00e9dia1\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The festival has plenty more acts to add to the line-up already announced, which includes names such as\u00a0<strong>Goran Bregovic<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>S\u00e9rgio Godinho<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Salif Keita<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tiken Jah Fakoly<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Expresso Transatl\u00e2ntico<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Fidju Kitxora<\/strong>, amongst many other artists from all over the world, with a total of over 30 countries already represented at the 2026 edition of MED.<\/p>\n<p>Also announced for this year is the\u00a0<strong>CIDADE MED<\/strong>concept, aimed at fully integrating the city to promote and boost the local economy, as well as expanding the venue with a new space such as the MED Lounge, the full integration of Loul\u00e9 Municipal Market, an expansion of the food and street food area, and a new entrance to the venue (next to Largo de S. Francisco, in addition to the two existing ones \u2013 between the Municipal Market and the Town Hall, and on the access road to Loul\u00e9 Castle, next to Caf\u00e9 Calcinha), ensuring greater convenience for visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The MED Festival stands out for its diverse programme, featuring over 50 concerts, hundreds of artists representing 30 countries, and five main stages (Matriz, Cerca, Chafariz, Castelo and Hammam).
